Ok....so I am an avid PS user, staying at my buddy's house he just bought the new Darth Vader Battlefront Edition PS4 back in January/February. Since he did not have internet he never worried about connecting it or anything just was playing Fallout4 and Call of Duty gameplay. So a week ago I got internet installed at his house, mind you Time Warner Business Class, which we have a strong up/down rate with.
Issues seen in chronological order:
Day 1 - We signed into the network and played some Fallout4, first thing I noticed was how insanely lagging his gameplay was as mine had none of those issues. After an hour of playing we switched it off and attempted to throw on some Kevin Hart on Netflix. Netflix would not connect, and then we had issues with the PSN staying connected. Ended that day of trouble.
Day 2 - I attempted to get logged back into the system and rebuilt the data for him thinking that would solve the issues, even re-registered all licenses. This did not help what so ever. At this point we couldn't play games or sign into anything. Everything threw error codes at us. Again stopped messing with it.
Day 3 - New Tom Clancy game arrived, I went into full reboot mode to get this working. Manually set up the network connections and DNS servers, instantly everything started working. Games logged in and network synced together. Loaded up the new game and because it's an online only game we had to sign up for PS+ or whatever and Ubisoft network. This started causing issues with the network phasing in and out. After about 3 hours of attempting numerous ways we eventually signed up for PS+ online and Ubisoft.....then the game would not load, kept saying networks were unavailable. Again said forget this and stopped.
Day 4 (Today) - We turned on the PS4 and it would not turn on, so I pushed it into safe mode to attempt to restart the system that way. Nothing. Turned off. Though it will turn back on only into Safe Mode. Called Sony, they were no help....basically erase your system and send it in....I refused to do that as there must be some type of technical glitch holding us up. Haven't messed with it again since I got super frustrated at it.
Has anyone had issues like this before and been able to fix it without sending it back in? Crazy this is only 3 months old and has these types of issues. I explained that mine has none of these. Could it be because it's a special release edition? Maybe an issue with Time Warner as well? Never seen a unit unable to connect to networks and then fritz out like this unit has.

EDIT:: PS3 works completely fine no issues running online. More concerned with a brand new PS4 being bunk.
