I came home last night and booted up my PS3 (1st generation with a 1T drive installed). When it booted up, I was told on screen it needed an update, and I attempted to do so. However, whether I try to update via USB stick, wifi or external hard drive, I get error message 80029c41. I have the update file on a memory stick and an external hard drive. I am having no problems accessing downloaded games (PSone, PS2 and PS3 as well as minis).
When I went intot safe mode (for option 6, I was told that it would reformat the internal drive.
Meanwhile, it won't update or log in.
Please advise.
