I have a PlayStation 2 that I purchased about a year or so ago that I like to use to play games from when I was a kid. Just recently, I bought CTR (Crash Team Racing) for PlayStation 1. It works completely fine on my PS2 and the resolution is definitely playable, although not ideal. Anyway, I came across a couple articles saying that PS2 games look better on an HDTV with an HD Composite cable. So, I then ordered one from Amazon yesterday. Then, today, I came across a few articles saying that PS1 games played on the PS2 may or may not work with an HD composite cable on HDTV. The solution to their problem was to get an S-Video cable, but I can't cancel the HD composite cable because it's already shipped. It's not a big deal, the S-Video cable is only a few dollars as was the HD composite cable, but I was just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. I have a 45" Vizio Smart HDTV. I'm asking here only because I can't really find many articles giving a direct answer because of the complicated wording of the situation.
Short version: Should I use an S-Video cable, an HD composite cable or any other suggested cable for a PS1 game (Crash Team Racing) on my PS2 console with my HDTV?
