I've searched around the web and seems like some other people are having the same issues. I get the 8001000A error when I try to connect to my network. Sometimes the connection will stay for a minute or two before cutting off, sometimes the WiFi light will turn off after a quick blip on system startup. After it drops the wireless connection, it won't detect any wireless networks. The weird thing is even if I restart the PS3 with an ethernet cable plugged in, it will tell me to plug an ethernet cable in when I run the network setup.
I've been having this issue for the past month or two. My PS3 (fat 60GB model) worked flawlessly on my network setup for years until now and nothing on my end has changed. I also called my ISP, told them my PS3 was having issues connecting, and they said nothing is being blocked. Is there something specific I need to ask them?
I did these steps many times (unplug/replub routers and modems, reset PS3 to default settings) and changed the DNS to Google's numbers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and it doesn't work for me. Is there anything else that I need to change to use those DNS numbers?
My network hardware consists of some type of Arris modem from the ISP (Optimum Online/Cablevision) and a Linksys EA2700 router.
This has been driving me crazy! Any help or insight would be appreciated.
