I have an interested problem that started about 2 months ago with my PS3 80gb Model CECHL01, system is about 9 years old.
What the problem is that the system will shut off with 3 beeps and 2 flashing red lights. In order to turn the system back on you have to hold the power button on the console.
Now, it is not over heating because as soon as I turn it on and start a game (any game) it will do this. and it will do this atleast 4-5 times! Now I have been reading about this so I already ruled out the over heating as I have put new arctic 5 thermal paste on the CPU & GPU and the system is cleaned. plus when the system does actually stay on it will veny out hot air from the back. So that is all working well. The next I already ruled out is the Hard Drive I replaced the drive with another HD 500GB. I even put the origional Hard Drive back in a few times and the system still resets on both drives. Now the games I play are both Disc and Hard Drive and it still does this. So if anyone knows what else maybe wrong with this then please do let me know!
So already ruled out,
Does not overheat because replaced thermal paste and system shuts off right af ter I boot it up.
Swaped hard drives both do the same.
Play both disc and hard drived games still does it!
The system is not dirty as I clean it often and there is no dust.
Any help would be great!
