I was playing Just Cause 3 remotely on my PS Vita upstairs and turned it off (rest mode) when I was done. My Son then turned it back on ejected JC3 and tried to put in his Plants vs Zombies disc but the PS4 wouldn't pull it in.
It isn't beeping, whirling,re-ejecting for no reason, or making any noises like some posts say theirs are doing. It just seems dead. I did a Google search and came up with a few items, one seemed plausible. According to a YouTube video the rollers can sometimes become detached and may need to be reseated. So thinking my warranty was up I opened the PS4 and removed the disc drive and discovered the rollers and everything else seemed to be in place. So I put it all back together and tried again. Unfortunately it still won't take in a disc, and now I realized I voided my last two months of warranty by removing the warranty sticker to reach the screws.
I am leaning towards buying a whole new disc drive and swapping it out since the rest of the PS4 seems to funtion ok, and still plays games off of the HDD. But I was hoping I could find another solution before I attempt the transplant.
Has anyone else had this problem without the constant ejecting or rollers coming apart?
