unresponsive back touchpad on vita

So i downloaded borderlands 2, and the reartouchpad stopped working. i have restarted and everything, and it didnt work. i tried testing it on welcome park, and then suddenly the screen becomes unresponsive! i cant click anything and only the joysticks work. how do i get them to work?
