Ok so here's what's happening, I got my PS4, and was initially playing offline. This worked for a while as I only owned single player games, but after a few days it wouldn't turn on for more than a few seconds. Looked up solution, downloaded updates online and it worked for a while. Then a few days later it started doing the same thing again. I connected to wifi again and got the updates so it worked again. I've done this pattern about 4 times, and now I don't have WiFi and am left with an expensive paper weight. Anyone know what's going on?
