Not sure where to post this. Not a tech person, so sorry if I miss important details.
Why does the media player on the PS4 not play or recognize so many files that the PS3 does play. I have a 2TB external hard drive that I've been using to saving movies I've encoded with DVDFAB. When I upgraded my Mac I also upgraded to the newest version of DVDFAB to encode my movies (from a DVD format to an MP4 format). Now everything I've encoded with the upgraded hardware and software will play just fine on my PS3 along with all previously encoded movies. However the PS4 only reads or recognizes the older encoded stuff. Why can't the PS4 media player just play the same stuff that the PS3 player does?
I know not a lot of details but can anyone explain?
