Controller only working at home screen.

This morning I turned on the Playstation 4 and everything was working fine. Went onto youtube and my controller wasnt responding to let me navigate through youtube. The PS button was still working and took my back to the home screen. I restarted the computer and controller and tried again, and it hadnt resolved. I then checked netflix and UFC2 and they had the same problem. So i checked online for a solution took all the advice opened up and cleaned the controller, tries the safe mode restart and tried the reset button on the back of the controller. Still having the same problem.

Anybody eles any other ideas what i can do? Or have experienced this and been able to sort it?

Hopefully I can get this sorted save me shelling out a fortune for a new controller.
