Ps4 Wont Play Games

I can use the controller and have the main/ home menu work but when i go into a game i can be button smashing away and wont do a thing in game as if my controller is not connected (the controller works i assure you). Ive had this issue before and rebuilding the database fixed it but i did that this time and it didnt work. HELP PLS
