PS3 on, turns Tv off and on

I have had no problems with my ps3 or Tv, then last night after the ps3 turned itself off, now each time i turn it on, it make the tv turn on and off continuously. i tried checking tv cord and settings, no change. tried different hdmi cords, no change. if hdmi cord isnt connected the tv stays on. i cant access any ps3 settings as it wont stay on long enough for me to log on. help please
