PS4 Wifi woes?

So the wifi connection on my PS4 sucks.  I can literally lay my phone on top of it, using my 2.4ghz N connection and I get 13mb down.  Pretty good for 12mb business service(to avoid caps).  Try testing from my PS4 and I get somewhere between 150k and 600k or so?  That was with the built in test and testmy.net download test.  Also already running 3.50.   Is the PS4 antenna really just that bad.  Because that's pretty abysmal.  I've already optimized my channel to minimize interference.  Narrowed up the band as well.  Only so much I can do to try to help out Sony here.

I've read the articles here:

https://support.us.playstation.com/articles/en_US/KC_Article/How-to-Improve-a-network-connection/

and

https://support.us.playstation.com/articles/en_US/KC_Article/Troubleshoot-Wired-or-Wireless-Network-Connection

Not moving it to test it.  Don't have a TV except in the living room.  Wifi router is in the bedroom.

I've been reading a lot of posts and I hear a lot of folks complaining about the wireless being terrible.  So why couldn't sony spring an extra 5 bucks per unit for a better wifi module/card/design.  Could get a wireline to try?  I live in a 45+ year old house, not sure when the wiring was touched last.though.  Could get a repeater, but failing to see the point since my phone gets good signal same spot.  Suppose I could get an extender with a LAN port off of it.  Perhaps the physical connection will be better?   Seriously just aggravating.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
