So I have had the my ps4 for several years without any issues. I even unplugged it once from HDMI and plugged it back in no problem. However recently after I took the ps4 to my friend's house and used it there, when I took it back home it stopped working, displaying a message "mode not supported" on my screen. I fixed this by putting it into safe mode and setting it to 480p, but now if I try to upscale the resolution to 1080p (which has been working flawlessly until now) the screen will start be distorted with red dots everywhere making it unplayable.
I have tried:
Using different HDMI ports and different cords.
Resetting the TV to factory settings
Turning off HDCP
Checking if something is bent/broken in the ps4's HDMI port (it wasn't)
Also it might be important to keep in mind that when I was at my friend's house, we used the ps4 just fine for a whole day, but the HDMI cord was removed overnight, and when it was plugged back in it didn't work there either.
I am using a Samsung TV that is supposed to support 1080 resolution, there's even a tag at the bottom claiming so. How do I fix this and play games at 1080p without the red static and occasional flashing?
