So today I was going to use my ps4 to play some rainbow six. It was working perfectly yesterday, this time though it took ages to boot up, and when it did, there was a lot of input lag from the controller. I checked to see if an update for R6 was finished (I'd started it the day before)... When I went into the notifications tab I showed nothing, just empty boxes that I could flick through as if there was something there... I then went back to the main UI to try to launch the game,where scrolling through my other games to find it caused all the apps to also turn into empty boxes with little refresh symbols in the middle. After about 10 minutes worth of unsuccessful Internet searching for a solution to my problem the apps reapeared I clicked on R6 and the screen froze letting me do nothing except hold the ps button to try and turn the thing off completely, which didn't work. The game then suddenly launched but got stuck on the picture it shows of the games cover art (?) Then it told me that the game cannot be launched. Then After an hour the downloads finally appeared and it downloaded the update. The game still would not launch. I tried to delete it. It wouldn't let me, it just got stuck on a empty blue background screen. I've tried unplugging it, rebuilding the database and pretty much everything else I could find on support forums and nothing has helped. The issue is the same for every game. This kind of thing is what I was trying to avoid by gaming on console... At this point I'm ready to give up and just trash it... Any suggestions would be appreciated.
