7 years of Data, gone.

As the title says... Game Data I've had since I first purchased my slim PS3 in the 2009 along with a collection of mp3s (which can be restored), XMB messages, chats I had with friends, etc. How and why this happened remains a mystery to me. I was playing Destiny when my console shut off on its own. First thought was random power outage but my TV was still on (blue screen) and my router had reset itself. My Wireless Access Point (WAP) box was still lit up too. Thinking it was just that, I attempted to resume gameplay only to be met by a message saying my file system was corrupted. I thought 'bs' and tapped my reset button, it beeped instead. Tried holding it down, but it beeped instead. Unplugged the **bleep** thing only to see the same thing! At this point, I knew this was going to end bad. I attempted the file restoration scan, which took 7-8 minutes per percent of download! My ISP provider said there was (supposedly) a line failure. Which I thought was octopus feces because no one else reported it in my area. Anyways... Many hours later, the scan stopped at about (if I remember correctly) 44-45% due to an error whilst scanning and pretty much said my only option was to reformat. I did the Safe Mode method which kept stalling on all the last resort of options other than reformat. Now my system has been "reborn" at the expense of some bogus error or hardware failure. I came searching the forums to find info on this and someone else I never knew reported the same incident as I experienced, only difference was they had PS4.

Why didn't I back up my files you ask?  Didn't have anything to back them up onto. I also discovered one of my controllers died because it was charging up at the time. I do not understand these modern day consoles. As costly as they are, they're prone to "accidents" like these. Was this Sony's fault? Can they replace the damaged controller? Or did the Lot Lizard Squad kick it up a notch this time?

Answers please.
